If you’ve seen X-Men: First Class, you’d know there’s a groovy lingerie scene in the Hell Fire Club featuring January Jones as Emma Frost . The movie takes place in the early 60s and you’ll see nylon 60s babydolls, lingerie with fringe, garter belt sets, and not a thong in sight! Our beloved Betty Draper as Emma Frost wears a sparkly white Wonderbra-looking plunge bra, skirt and fur trimmed peignoir. I spent a while searching online for this part of the movie but since nobody uploaded the clip to youtube, I figured I’d be the first to do it! The scene also features pieces from vintage inspired lingerie brand What Katie Did‘s Lulu collection. Can you spot it?

Each panel is trimmed with delicate ribbon, and the non-stretch construction means it’s lightly shaping across the tummy and thighs; and highly flattering on a range of shapes and sizes. It’s finished with a hint of powermesh at the back, for a perfect fit, and features six of What Katie Did infallible, metal suspender clips. I dare you to resist this new garter belt!

What makes Triumph Lingerie so special?
You’ve likely heard of the British lingerie brand Triumph. They’re quite possibly the world’s biggest lingerie manufacturer. Comfort, quality, innovation and fashion are Triumph’s core values. I normally buy Triumph bras when I want something comfortable and well made, like maybe a T-shirt bra. But when I saw this new shapewear collection – I was grinning from ear to ear! Triumph does have an extensive range encompassing everyday lingerie, specific shapewear, sports and maternity styles and it’s true that you will find great fit, color and style within Triumph’s vast range – but this new vintage inspired collection is to die for! Thumbs up, Triumph lingerie! Keep it coming and I’ll keep buying!

Triumph Shape Sensation Series
Since I’m not sure you can get this yet, I also want to mention the Shape Sensation series, which employs ultra-light elasticized fabrics to give wearers what the manufacturer calls a “shaping effect”.
“It’s not a slimming product. It’s about shaping the body,” said Emilie Kauffmann, brand and marketing manager for Triumph in France.
The new collection consists of four ranges:
Elegant Sensation seeks to offer a high level of shaping with a ‘sophisticated light look,’ using an abstract-patterned lace, which has been designed exclusively for Triumph.
Pure Sensation offers medium-level shaping with a combination of sheer and opaque materials, and flat engineered edges.
Alluring Sensation gives medium to high control in a ‘sexy retro optic’.
Velvet Sensation provides medium control, using flock technology in a floral design, featuring the season’s colors.
I’m confident that lingerie website Zodee will have the new Triumph Essence collection available soon, since they already have every other Triumph collection, including Shape Sensation, available on their site! All of these vintage inspired items are on Triumph’s website! Check it out!
