Marilyn Monroe (born Norma Jeane Mortenson; June 1, 1926 – August 5, 1962) was an American actress, model, and singer, who became a major sex symbol, starring in a number of commercially successful motion pictures during the 1950s and early 1960s. After spending much of her childhood in foster homes, Monroe began a career as a model, which led to a film contract in 1946 with Twentieth Century-Fox.

Marilyn Monroe’s nylon bodystocking in the 1960′s movie Let’s Make Love is perfect for doing a little burlesque striptease for your man this Valentine’s Day!
I’d been looking for a nylon catsuit for a long time now, to emulate Marilyn Monroe’s song and dance in the 1960 movie Let’s Make Love. The nylon catsuit had to have a cuban heel, be made out of nylon, be sheer and not totally opaque and could not be made of fishnet or be crotchless! I finally found a few sultry looking numbers.

Spaghetti Strap Opaque Bodystocking
This opaque spaghetti strap bodystocking is curve-hugging and sexy yet leaves a hint of mystery. Remember Diana Rigg in The Avengers? Her catsuit wasn’t crotchless like this one, but imagine the fun she could have had if it was! This style will best fit from 5′ – 5′ 11″ up to 2X or 220 lbs.
I want to put on a song and dance of my own in one of these! I love that they’re classy and not so in-your-face trashy like a lot of the body stockings out there. (I guess it’s 1960′s stripper wear?) The fact that these nylon catsuits are not completely sheer yet not opaque leave just enough to the imagination. The cuban heel detail make me swoon!

The hard-to-find and nearly sold-out-everywhere Shirley of Hollywood Platinum Collection, inspired by Marilyn Monroe, is from a couple of years ago. Lingerie from this line crop up every now and then, but not often! The Shirley of Hollywood Platinum Collection is made with soft charmeuse satin, sparkle knit, trapunto stitch cups, lace and lace overlay and is very reminiscent of glamorous Old Hollywood. Colors include black, platinum white, red and black and a little pink too.
The Shirley of Hollywood Platinum Collection is not to be confused with another Marilyn Monroe inspired collection they also came out with a few years after this one – which looked *shudder* hideous. They made a small print of her face and added polka dots and ruffles in satin. The entire collection looked more Minnie Mouse than Marilyn Monroe, in my opinion.
Onto the Platinum Collection! I think it’s, by far, the best Marilyn Monroe inspired lingerie collection out there. Some of those I’ve seen just kind of hint at Marilyn’s style, but this one gets it spot on.
Corsets Are A Girl’s Best Friend
Marilyn actually only wore a corset in a few period films, like the River of No Return
. She did not, in real life, need to wear a corset. But these are beautifully done and inspired by her! I can see where they took the inspiration from. These would be gorgeous for a burlesque routine when you want that classy glitz and glam.The first corset from the left, with the bow, is also available in Red & Black and plus sizes at Amazon.

Marilyn’s Heat Wave 1950s Pinup Girl 3-Piece Playsuit Romper
I think this is the best out of their entire collection and that’s saying something! Excellent job, Shirley of Hollywood! I want more of this!
The entire set includes the red satin bra top with softly padded under wired clips, adjustable shoulder straps, stretch mesh bra back, with hook and eye closure.
